Finnish spirit flavours awarded in London

A number of Finnish distilleries have been awarded at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC 2019) organised in the UK.

The prestigious IWSC competition is celebrating its 50th anniversary of picking out the best products from distilleries and vineyards worldwide.

Among the winners are several Finnish producers, including Kyrö Distillery Company, which bagged a gold medal for its rye whisky and two silvers for its rye gin in different categories.

The other Finnish gold medallists were Lignell & Piispanen’s Gustav Dill Vodka and the Tom of Finland Vodka from Finnish marketer duo Olli Hietalahti and Jouko Laune’s Spirit of Tom.

All in all, Finns took home three gold medals, 16 silvers and 18 bronzes. The winners also included Northern Lights Spirits, Tornio Distillery, Nagu Distillery, Nordique Vodka, Altia, Pyynikin Distilling Company, Teerenpeli Panimo & Tislaamo and Tampere Brewing & Distilling.
