MacGregor celebrates joint venture in China

The opening ceremony was held on 10 April in Nanjing, China. MacGregor

Finnish offshore and marine industry company MacGregor and CSSC Nanjing Luzhou have celebrated the launch of their first joint venture in China.

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has been collaborating with China State Shipbuilding Corporation’s (CSSC) Nanjing Luzhou Machine for 30 years, and the new joint venture will mark the beginning of new long-term strategic co-operation between the companies.

The business model and organisational structure for the joint venture were drawn up during 2017 and the business license obtained in March 2018. The co-operation will begin by focusing on air compressors but be expanded step by step to cover more products.

China is the world’s largest market for shipbuilding, and the new strategic co-operation with China’s largest shipbuilder CSSC will allow MacGregor to enhance its footprint on the Asian market and be closer to customers, partners and key stakeholders.
