Gigglebug’s Best & Bester cartoon catches the Eye
Finnish animation studio Gigglebug Entertainment and London-based Eye Present have signed a co-production deal, after Best & Bester set tongues wagging at the Cartoon Forum 2017.
Eye Present was “attracted to this original property at Cartoon Forum by the concept’s ability to get kids involved with comparing their favorite things across a range of different media,” says company CEO Genevieve Dexter, in a press release. “We were also very impressed with Gigglebug’s infectious sense of humor and ability to tell cross platform stories.”
A digital-first concept, Best & Bester consists of 78 x 7-minute episodes that are paired with an online chat game encouraging friends to make ridiculous comparisons, and vote on what the best thing is for any given situation.
The game has been chosen for a select group of titles now in beta testing on Facebook’s new Messenger gaming platform.
“Our mission is to create positive content with an impact,” says Gigglebug CEO Anttu Harlin. “While Best & Bester is pure comedy at heart, it also opens kids eyes to the endless possibilities that are available to them in this world and celebrates the freedom of opinion.”
