Finnish firms stack up orders worldwide
Finnish companies KONE, Konecranes, Hiab, and YIT have won orders and projects around the world.
First up is KONE, which is providing lifts and escalators for the 8 Conlay mixed-use luxury development in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The development consists of a 57-storey residential tower, a 62-storey residential tower and the 68-storey five-star Kempinski Hotel, as well as serviced suites and lifestyle retail quarters.
Next in line is Konecranes, which is supplying a Gottwald Model 3 Mobile Harbour Crane to Northern Ireland’s second largest port, Warrenpoint Port. There are currently five Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbour Cranes operating at the port, and the latest addition is part of Warrenpoint’s new 25-year growth plan.
Finally to YIT, which is building a hydropower plant in the Sogn and Fjordane county in Western Norway with Norwegian power company Sunnfjord Energi. The contract is worth approximately 32 million euros, with the work set to commence in 2018 and be completed in December 2020.
YIT is also selling part of its plot in Pushkin, on the outskirts of St. Petersburg. YIT is developing the INKERI low-rise apartment complex on the plot, 5.4 hectares of which will be sold to Russian real estate development company FSK Lider for a price of approximately 15 million euros.
