Ahlstrom-Munksjö continues to invest in Brazil
Finland-based Ahlstrom-Munksjö will invest 21 million euros in its Jacarei plant in Brazil with the aim of improving its product offering and strengthening its market position in South America.
The investment will target Ahlstrom-Munksjö’s coated specialities business by expanding the Jacarei plant’s product mix and increasing its production efficiency.
The improvements are expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2019 and help Ahlstrom-Munksjö meet robust growth in demand for high value-added coated speciality papers in South America.
“The investment shows our long-term commitment to the South American market and our ambition to maintain a leading position in coated speciality papers,” says Daniele Borlatto, executive vice president of industrial solutions at Ahlstrom-Munksjö. “This allows us to better serve our customers, continuing to grow with them by developing sustainable and value added fibre-based solutions.”
Following the completion of the Caieiras speciality paper mill acquisition announced in April, Ahlstrom-Munksjö will have three operating plants in Brazil, with more than 700 employees and revenues of around 200 million euros.
