“Animoca Brands’ position in the market is well regarded among industry professionals and its games have proven popular with a global audience,” says Ticbits CEO Fredrik Wahrman. “We are therefore excited to become a part of the story. Ticbits will provide Animoca Brands with a complementary portfolio of owned IP and game engines to enhance downloads, usage and revenue generation.”

Based in Turku, the Ticbits team has released 13 predominantly word and puzzle games, such as Sudoku, Solitaire and Mahjong since it was founded in 2010. The company recently ventured into new territory with tower defence title Crazy Kings.

Overall, Ticbits’ output has been downloaded 11 million times globally and it reported a total of 750 000 monthly active users in March 2016. Revenue last year for the mobile game developer topped one million euros.
