The newly forged combination will be developed into a unified contextual video and advertising service by integrating Thirdpresence’s AI-powered video advertising solution into Flowplayer’s video hosting platform.
“[W]e want to create the right video engagement metrics that give a true and meaningful overview to content owners,” explained the new CEO, Valtteri Pukander, in a press release. “The combined solution uses newly created metadata directly from the video to improve the viewing experience through better video recommendations and advertisements.”
Flowplayer is a rapidly growing video platform offering one of the fastest video and live streaming services on the market. The company increased its user base almost threefold last year, and counts HBO, Universal, Televisa and Disney smong its customers.
“We will now accelerate our offering in video analytics and intelligence so that publishers will enjoy better opportunities to generate revenue from their content,” commented Emanuel Viklund, the new CTO.
Thirdpresence has raised some significant seed funding recently, bringing the total to six million euros.
