Space Nation takes a giant leap with NASA
Space Nation has launched a collaboration with NASA to develop a free global astronaut experience programme complete with an app, to make the universal dream of space travel more accessible and relevant to everyone on earth.
Now it intends to use NASA’s expertise to develop the Space Nation Astronaut Experience Program and app set for release in February 2018.
“Space Nation’s collaboration with NASA means that space is no longer a distant dream,” says Space Nation CEO Kalle Vähä-Jaakkola, in a release. “We’re enabling millions of people, anyone with a smartphone in fact, to enhance their daily lives through experiencing what it means to prepare for space travel.”
The Space Nation astronaut experience will take place across several media platforms and allows for different levels of interaction from its users: from active astronaut training to taking part in the app’s games and challenges, competing for the chance of actually reaching space to watching the documentary series following astronaut trainees.
“It’s for everybody that wants new space experiences, like AR/VR, and to learn the skills essential to life in the 21st century – teamwork, problem-solving, physical and mental excellence,” Vähä-Jaakkola points out, in a release.
The Space Nation Astronaut Experience Program culminates in a yearly global transmedia experience where people can follow the most dedicated trainees, one of whom will get to travel to actual space with Space Nation.
