Plantui plants seeds for growth
Finnish design and food company Plantui has seen its sales grow in Europe and Southeast Asia, which has been boosted by more than a million euros in equity investments raised during 2016.
A third of the funding raised comes from private investors in Asia. With the money, Plantui is seeking to strengthen its growth in Southeast Asia.
The company established its overseas branch Plantui Asia in December. Early next year, a new sales hub will be opened in Singapore. An online shop was launched in November.
“In Asia, the market for smart and indoor gardens is at a completely different level than in Finland, because many people lack the space to grow plants outdoors,” says Karri Andersson, CEO of Plantui. “Indoor gardening is a fast-growing trend, and Plantui is one of the first players in the market.”
Plantui aims for growth by enforcing its local marketing and sales efforts to raise awareness about the brand.
Plantui is expanding its business in Europe, too. The luxury department store Harrods has been selling Plantui smart gardens since November.
The company, established in 2012, has seen its sales grow rapidly this past year, and in 2017 it is expected to double its turnover.
