New Moomin game becomes global hit
The mobile game Moomin Adventures Jam Run, targeted at users of all ages, has, in a short time, attracted players from more than 90 countries. The game has made it to the top of Google’s list of the most popular new games in Finland.
In the game the Moomin characters chase berries in Moomin Valley. The game can currently be downloaded as a single-player version and plans have also been made to publish a multi-player version and new levels to challenge players. Moomin Adventures Jam Run is a free-to-play game. In future, players can improve their game experience with in-game purchases, such as new playable characters and levels. However, these can also be achieved by simply playing the game.
Moomin Adventures Jam Run has been released on Google Play and in the App Store.
The game was developed by the Turku-based startup Indium Games, which was established in 2014. The game is published by Finnish Brand Shop, which also owns the licence to the game. Moomin Adventures Jam Run is Indium Games’s first mobile game, which took the company about half a year to develop.
“We believe that a mobile game with a Moomin theme for players of all ages will enjoy extensive demand globally,” says Sami Kaivola from Finnish Brand Shop. “[…] Especially users in the Nordic countries, the UK and Japan have discovered the game practically without any marketing efforts.”
Moomin Characters CEO Roleff Kråkström is also excited about the new Moomin game:
“Mobile games are in tune with our times, and I’m thrilled that the Moomins have now also received their own mobile game brimming with action and suitable for all age groups.”
