Metso is deepening its collaboration with Boliden beyond the Arctic Circle in Sweden and is helping recycle scrap metal in Texas, USA.

Finnish industrial heavyweight Metso will provide surface crushing equipment for Boliden‘s Aitik copper mine, located north of the Arctic Circle in Swedish Lapland. Sweden is one of Europe’s top producers of copper and Metso has co-operated with Boliden since the 1960s.

Meanwhile in Texas, USA, Oak Cliff Recycling has turned to Metso to help maximise its metal processing efficiency at its recycling unit.

Oak Cliff recycling has encountered problems processing bulky and oversized scrap metal, which Metso’s N Series Inclined Shear (NIS) will take care of from here on out.

“Metso NIS has the design and ability to process difficult materials quickly and efficiently,” explains Benjie Smith, owner of Oak Cliff Recycling. “Cutting cycle times are fast, and the design of the moving floor in getting the scrap metal to the blades removes the added time of folding and compressing in a box.”
