Finnish information management company M-Files has bought its long-time French retailer, StreamDesign.

With the purchase of its collaboration partner of more than a decade, M-Files is looking to strengthen its sales and customer deliveries services while gaining a stronger foothold in Europe, where it also has offices in the UK and Germany.

M-Files’ approach to information management is unique in that it doesn’t matter where the file is stored, whether spread out in shared network folders or on file sharing services like Dropbox, for example. It will find the relevant content using value and context indicators, and without the need to migrate all the data into one system.

“In terms of strategy and growth, businesses have an enormous need for modern information management solutions,” says Miika Mäkitalo, CEO of M-Files. “It is this challenge that M-Files meets, and it is for these reasons that M-Files is listed as the only information management service visionary in the Gartner research institute’s ECM Magic Quadrant report.”
