Helsinki ranks the 8th most liveable city in the world, according to The Economist Intelligence Unit’s annual liveability survey.

The index surveyed 140 cities in total.

Helsinki received 96.0 points from the overall 100, whereas number one Melbourne snatched 97.5 points. The Finnish capital received maximum scores of 100 in stability and healthcare.

The index assesses locations based on their living conditions. The Economist Intelligence Unit’s liveability ranking quantifies the challenges that might be presented to an individual’s lifestyle in any given location and enables direct comparison between locations.
