The annual survey by The Guide to Sleeping in Airports website places Helsinki eight in overall experience globally.

In Europe, Helsinki Airport ranks second, the number one spot being taken by Munich International Airport.

The Guide also asked people to rate airports based on their comfort and sleep-ability. In this category, Helsinki is listed fifth. One of the respondents even said they “slept better than in some hotels”.

“Very comfortable airport to sleep. Found a quiet gate with long padded seats”, the rating reads.

Another respondent compliments the way the airport is run.

“Everything goes smoothly. Everything works. Clean, cosy, friendly and efficient!”

In the list of best airports for layovers, Helsinki Airport takes the sixth spot. The winner in overall experience is Singapore Changi International Airport, followed by Seoul Incheon International Airport and Tokyo Haneda International Airport.
