Finnish design for immense Global cruise ship
Finnish companies Deltamarin and Elomatic have signed a significant agreement with shipbuilding company MV Werften for the design of a second Global-class cruise ship.
The Turku-based companies were also involved to a large degree in designing the first vessel in the cruise ship series, which once completed will be the largest ever to be built in Germany.
“We are very happy that MV Werften continues to trust in our expertise and ability to design world-class cruise ships and we look forward to designing the second vessel in this remarkable Global-class series,” says Elomatic CEO Patrik Rautaheimo.
The second vessel will be approximately 342 metres long and 46.4 metres wide, with a capacity of up to 9 500 passengers. It will be designed specifically for the Asian market.
Work on the design has already commenced, and the Finnish duo will also provide site services at the shipyard during the construction of the vessel, parts of which will be built simultaneously at MV Werften’s shipyards in Wismar and Rostock, Germany.
