Finnish companies grow fast in Financial Times

Financial Times’ annual FT 1000 list has placed a total of 17 Finnish companies among the fastest growing European companies.

Produced in co-operation with Statista, the list ranks growth companies according to their compound annual growth rate in revenue (CAGR) from 2014 to 2017. This year’s edition features companies from 27 European countries and 37 different industries.

Industry-wise, the technology sector continued to dominate the list, accounting for 149 of the listed companies. Geographically, Germany was home to the largest number of company headquarters, while London remained the most popular city among the listed companies.

Framery, a Finnish provider of activity-based work environments, bettered its position from last year and ascended to number 20 with a CAGR of 216.1 per cent.

2019 also marked Geniem’s sophomore year on the list, with the company dropping 200-odd positions to 780th. Psychotherapy Center Vastaamo (284) secured a spot on the list for the third year in a row along with just 91 other companies.

Lamia made a strong debut on the list, placing 65th with a CAGR of 149 per cent.

The Helsinki-based e-commerce solutions provider has received attention before, having ranked fourth on Deloitte’s list of the fastest growing Finnish tech companies in 2017.

The other Finnish companies that made their first appearance on FT 1000 were Supermetrics (180), Tammi Talot (189), LVS Brokers (220), Epassi Payments (298), Hangon Makaronitehdas (384), Piantek (414), Nordcloud (498), IVALO Creative Agency (545, see video below), MySoda (570), Eastborder Promotions (750), IWA Oy (770), FSN Logistics (882) and Si-Tecno (893).
