The translation rights for the Modern Crochet book series by Finnish designer, artisan and author Mari Leppälä, known professionally as Molla Mills, have been sold this week to a number of countries around the world.

In her books Mills provides step-by-step guidance for creating crochet items that can be used as part of an outfit, interior decoration or in outdoor activities. The series includes three books, the first of which has already been published in seven languages and will soon be released in Korean.

The recently published third volume of the series was immediately sold to all English-speaking regions, and will be launched in the United States next year.

Mills is known for graphic patterns and witty practical ideas, which are based on simple, traditional crocheting techniques. In her books she covers electrical wires in black-and-white stripes and creates a can carrier for taking drinks to a picnic.
