Finnair succeeded well in the rating of Airlineratings.com, a website that monitors the safety and quality of airlines. The company was included in the top ten list of the safest airlines in the world.

The news was reported by Finnish daily Helsingin Sanomat.

Apart from Qantas, which was at the top of the list, the top ten airlines were listed in alphabetical order.

In addition to Finnair and Qantas, Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific Airways, British Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, EVA Air, Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines made it into the top ten. According to the website that published the list, these airlines are always at the forefront of safety innovation and launching new planes. A total of 449 airlines were reviewed.

According to Helsingin Sanomat, the ratings are based on, among other things, audits carried out by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), a blacklist of airlines compiled by the European Union, accident statistics, statements by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and safety audits carried out by the International Civil Aviation Organisation.
