Finland one of world’s most transparent countries
Finland has been ranked third in the Corruption Perceptions Index 2016.
The index looked at perceptions of public sector corruption in 176 countries, assessing levels of open government, press freedom, civil liberties and independent judicial systems.
New Zealand and Denmark topped the list with a score of 90 out of 100. Finland’s score was 89, which saw it slipping one place on the index compared with last year’s ranking.
For the tenth year running, Somalia was the worst performing nation on the index.
