The Finnish game developer Everywear Games has received seed funding of 1.2 million euros from True Ventures. The startup is specialised in developing games for the Apple Watch and other smartwatch platforms.

The game studio’s previous investors include Sunstone Capital and Lifeline Ventures, of whom representatives sit already on Everywear’s board of directors. True Ventures, one of the leading venture capital firms in Silicon Valley, has now joined the ranks of investors and increased the total investment sum the game studio has received to two million euros. Om Malik, a partner at True Ventures, will become a member of Everywear’s board.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome True Ventures and have Om Malik join our board of directors. True is one of the first investors to win in the wearable space. The insights and network which Om Malik brings to the table are simply unrivalled,” says Aki Järvilehto, CEO of Everywear Games.

Everywear Games’ first game for the Apple Watch, Runeblade, has been met with positive reviews from fans, the press and other companies in the industry. The company’s founders have previously worked for companies such as Rovio, Digital Chocolate and Remedy.
