Finnish universities recognised among best in field by QS
Aalto University achieved the highest ranking by a Finnish university in QS World University Rankings by Subject, securing the sixth place in the field of art and design.

The Espoo-based university made it into the top 100 also in architecture and built environment (43rd), business and management (74th), computer science and information systems (84th), materials science (95th) and electrical and electronic engineering (97th).
The University of Helsinki secured top-100 spots in as many as 11 fields, landing 20th in theology, divinity and religious studies; 21st in education and training; 43rd in agriculture and forestry; 47th in linguistics, 60th in pharmacy and pharmacology; 75th in biological sciences; 77th in environmental sciences; 78th in sociology; 84th in English language and literature; 94th in psychology; and 99th in modern languages.
QS World University Rankings by Subject covers a total of 51 specific subjects in five broad subject areas. Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology share the status of the world’s best university according to the rankings, each leading the way in 12 subjects. There are around 17 000–22 000 universities in the world depending on the criteria.
