Finnish company Teleste will collaborate with the Prince of Songkla University and Thai company Point IT Consulting on the development of digital smart campus video applications.

The three parties have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the aim of creating new innovative digital services using technologies such as video management, video image analytics, situational awareness and the Internet of Things.

The MoU enables the Prince of Songkla University (PSU) to utilise Teleste’s technologies, while Point IT Consulting will be responsible for implementation, installation, support and maintenance services.

“The transformation to digital economy is among the most compelling challenges for societies and industries around the world,” said Esa Harju, SVP at Teleste. “As the rapidly evolving digitisation seems to offer almost endless opportunities, we need fresh initiatives and innovative approaches to turn the potential into everyday reality.”

“We are looking forward to seeing how PSU students and researchers will utilise advanced video management and situational awareness technologies from Teleste, and what kind of new services and applications will emerge as the result of our co-operation,” Harju continued.

PSU is a prominent research university with five campuses, 39 faculties and more than 40 excellence and research centres in southern Thailand.
