Finnish education technology company Mightifier has joined the Safer Schools in America Impact Initiative, led by the Global Grid for Learning (GG4L) and McREL.

Mightifier’s positive school culture programme, which cultivates a safe and respectful learning environment, will be implemented in 500 eligible schools in 250 districts across the US as part of the partnership.

The Safer Schools in America Impact Initiative grants a total of 25 million US dollars for education technologies and services to be introduced in the schools, with their impact on school safety to be carefully researched for the next three years.

“There is a fundamental urgency to provide quality school safety research, and we are excited to participate in this important initiative,” saidMerviPänkäläinen, Mightifier’s founder and CEO.

Mightifier’s programme was created in collaboration with Finnish teachers, school leaders and students. It introduces social and emotional learning (SEL) into the classroom and enables students to practise empathy by giving each other positive feedback.

Mightifier recently also partnered with Sunburst Digital in the US to bring its positive school culture programme to elementary schools across the nation.
