Finn Hanna Ilén has been appointed as general manager of Liferay Nordics. Liferay

American software company Liferay has opened a business unit in Finland in preparation of expansion to other Nordic countries.

The company’s open-source Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP) helps customers with their digitalisation needs by enabling them to create and manage portals, intranets, extranets and websites, and integrating with other systems.

With a strong partner network, Liferay has already secured 60 clients from the Finnish private and public sectors, including Kela, Elisa, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, and the University of Helsinki.

“We founded our own business unit in Finland because we want to help our clients and partners digitalise their services with Liferay’s platform even more broadly and cost efficiently,” saidHanna Ilén, the new general manager of Liferay Nordics. “Finland also has a long history of open-source software development, something that’s important for Liferay. Our strong position in Finland offers us a solid foundation to expand our business in other Nordic countries.”

Globally, Liferay has around 850 employees in more than 20 countries and a clientele that include Airbus, Bosch, HP and Santander.
