Kide Science goes to Indonesia
Finnish early-childhood education company Kide Science is launching a collaboration with Kidventure Academy in Indonesia.
The co-operation will start in May with teacher training in Jakarta. Kidventure Academy is an early education provider about to open a kindergarten in the Indonesian capital.
Kide Science reached the deal through its business partner Polkuni HK, which has been working with ACE Edventure in Indonesia. The new kindergarten is set to open in July and will offer Kide Science sessions.
“There is a huge demand for Finnish research-based quality science education in Asia’s early-childhood education sector, especially for comprehensive, plug-and-play pedagogical models,” said Kide Science’s CEO, Sari Hurme-Mehtälä, in a press release. “Kide Science has started science programmes in Malaysia, Singapore, China, and Australia in addition to launching in Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand and Azerbaijan later this year.”
The new kindergarten in Jakarta will adopt an East-West pedagogical approach, including Kide Science’s play-based learning method that teaches natural sciences to young children.
The Finnish education company recently closed a 750 000-euro funding round to help spur its growth in Asia.
