The European Business Awards has named the national winners for Finland in the qualifying phase, from which nine category leaders will advance to the finals to be held in December 2019.

One of the biggest business competitions in the world, the European Business Awards was established to support Europe’s role in tackling unemployment, climate change, conflicts and poverty. This year, a total of 120 000 companies from 33 countries participated in the qualifying phase.

“To be chosen as a national winner means you show great innovation, ethics and success and are one of the best businesses in Europe,” saidAdrian Tripp, managing director of the European Business Awards.

Sofokus Group, a provider of digital platforms, will move on to the finals after coming out on top in the workplace and people development category. The award is a sign of a holistic view of human resources, strong values and investments in the people side of business. Sofokus is 40-strong and in the midst of making a move to foreign markets.

“We are grateful and especially honoured to have been selected a national winner in a category highlighting the best European companies doing pioneering work in the development of company culture and people,” commented Teemu Malinen, the founder of Sofokus Group.

“This award is a real boost for everyone working at Cloudia,” said CEO Are Saarinen. Image: Cloudia

These sentiments were echoed by Cloudia CEO AreSaarinen. “[T]o be recognised as one of the best businesses in Finland brings us great pride,” he stated, after the company had triumphed in the category for businesses with a turnover not exceeding 25 million euros.
