Eero Milonoff bags acting award in Sweden

Milonoff was presented with the award by the Swedish Film Institute, with the film itself being nominated nine times at the Guldbagge Awards in Stockholm and going on to win awards also for best actress, best film and best editing.

Border is a romantic fantasy drama about a customs officer who is unusually talented at identifying suspicious persons. One day, the mysterious Vore (Milonoff) walks through customs and his trustworthiness proves to be difficult to ascertain.  

During his acceptance speech, Milonoff said in Swedish, “This is my first personal prize. Ali Abbasi [director], thank you for believing in me. Eva Melander [lead actress], without you I wouldn’t be here. You are outstanding.”

He went on to thank the rest of the crew and his near and dear ones, before closing with: “I think empathy is what makes us human. Remember that, remember to love.”

Milonoff has previously featured in films such as Once Upon a Time in the North (Härmä) and The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki, which won many international awards and represented Finland at the Oscars.
