Tornio Brewery, or Tornion Panimo in Finnish, sits right across the border from Sweden, where it has begun to export its products.

Tornio Brewery started to supply restaurants in Sweden during the spring, and from the beginning of July its products will also be available in the Swedish state-owned liquor store collective Systembolaget.

“To get into Systembolaget’s assortment is a big step for us towards a wider conquest of Sweden,” says Kaj Kostiander, director of Tornio Brewery. “To start with, our North Arctic Lager and Original Lapland Lager will be included in the order selection of stores in Northern Sweden, from where the sales net will start to expand over time.”

In 2018, Tornio Brewery set out to double its sales figures and commence exports, with both goals now well underway.

“Results from the groundwork done last year are beginning to show,” comments Mikko Ahokas, chairman of the board at Tornio Brewery. “Sales have grown significantly and we have now opened up exports to Sweden, which will support growth even more.”
