SuperPark sparks excitement in Asia
Finnish adventure and activity park SuperPark has opened its Chinese flagship at Suzhou Olympic Park and has plans to expand to Singapore in November.
Originating in Vuokatti, SuperPark offers children a natural way to exercise. The company started out in 2012 and has since opened 13 parks in Finland and also taken the concept abroad to Sweden and Hong Kong.
The new parks in China and Singapore signal a broader push in Asia, and the company has plans to open 100 parks worldwide by 2023. The Singapore SuperPark is set to cover 40 000 square feet or roughly 3 700 square metres, with three different activity zones and over 20 activities.
According to the company, founder and development director Taneli Sutinen came up with the idea after trying to play with his daughter at a normal children’s indoor playground. Sutinen had some problems following his daughter through the obstacles designed for children and decided that there should be a better way for adults to exercise with their children.
