Finnish developer and manufacturer of smart gardens Plantui has signed a product development and manufacturing agreement with BSH Hausgeräte GmbH (BSH), the German group known for Bosch, Siemens and Gaggenau.

The partnership has already borne fruit, with the first products under the Bosch brand launched at the IFA Berlin trade show.

“We began in 2012 as a small but determined startup, and on our journey since then we’ve developed our products and business,” says Plantui CEO René Österman. “Plantui’s globally patented smart technology, combined with our quality and design, appealed to BSH.”

Collaborating with Europe’s leading home appliance manufacturer offers Plantui a more extensive global distribution network and boosts its product development.

“We share a vision of indoor gardens as an essential part of future kitchens and food preparation,” Österman continues, pointing to worldwide growth in the indoor garden and food tech category.

“Plantui is responding to global megatrends: environmental awareness, urbanisation and interest in food integrity and quality.”

The company announced a 1.4 million-euro funding round in June.
