Nokiais helping Polish telecommunications operator Netia meet surging bandwidth demands from customers with its unified cable access solution, which will significantly increase Netia’s network capacity. Initially targeting Warsaw and Krakow, the deployment of Nokia’s solution will enable Netia to offer ultra-broadband services to its customers and will represent Europe’s first fully virtualised distributed access architecture (vDAA) cable network.

Nokia is also offering its ultra-broadband solutions in the US, where it is deploying its XGS-PON fibre technology with US fibre-optic telecommunications provider Hotwire. The roll-out will bring some of the fastest broadband speeds (10Gbps) and new broadband services to Hotwire’s customers in Florida and North Carolina, while providing a cost-effective path to upgrade Hotwire’s existing fibre network, which covers most of the US east coast.

KONE, in turn, is equipping the new Shenzhen Gemdale Center under development in Shenzhen, China, with a total of 56 elevators and 10 escalators, as well as innovative people flow solutions. The development is situated amongst the headquarters of several high-technology enterprises in the Nanshan District High-tech Park, and will consist of two high-rise office buildings, a podium building, an R&D centre, clubhouses, a skyway connecting the buildings, a garden, and an underground parking garage. It is expected to be completed in 2020.
