MaaS Global adds EUR 9 million in funding
Finnish mobility-as-a-service operator MaaS Global is looking to new markets after closing a nine million-euro funding round.
MaaS Global’s Whim app is the world’s first service to allow users to book and pay for all mobility services in one app for one monthly fee.
“We are extremely happy that we have been able to prove the MaaS concept really works,” says founder and CEOSampo Hietanen.
“Now we are able to strengthen our global presence and keep on being the forerunner in this new and exciting industry,” he adds
This latest funding round follows on the heels of two significant funding boosts last year. Toyota led a 10 million-euro round in June, followed by 14.2 million euros in August.
As a result, CEO Hietanen’s vision of seamless mobility in and between cities and countries is making significant progress. The service currently operates in Helsinki, West Midlands in the UK and Antwerp in Belgium.
