Director Juha Lehtola’s latest film, Human Part, will hit the big screen with a bang at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival.

The film is being featured in the renowned Official Selection Competition in Tallinn – the festival’s main category.

“It’s awesome that Human Part will get such a distinguished and grand opening,” says co-producer Misha Jaari from Bufo, in a release. “Making it to the main category is a huge honour for the whole crew.”

Described as a comedy-drama, the film tells the story of IT businessman Pekka Malmikunnas (Hannu-Pekka Björkman), who manages to convince his relatives that he is living a normal life despite being unemployed.

The consequences of keeping up appearances start becoming increasingly evident when Pekka decides to thrown a grandiose dinner party for his relatives, and he ends up bumping into another smooth-talker, played by Kari Hietalahti.

The film is based on KariHotakainen’s best-selling novel of the same name. Hotakainen was also involved in writing the screenplay.
