House of Lapland opens virtual office in China
Finnish Lapland’s marketing and advertising company, House of Lapland, is opening a virtual office in Shanghai, China.
The virtual office will open in connection with the Finland-China (FinChi) Innovation Center and is part of House of Lapland’s strategy to improve the position of Lappish companies that wish to operate in China.
In connection with the virtual office, House of Lapland is also opening an official account on one of China’s most widely used social media channels, WeChat, which has more than 900 million daily users.
“Chinese markets have tremendous potential and a still growing interest for arctic areas and know-how,” says CEO of House of Lapland, Sanna Tarssanen. “These openings are an important channel for us to demonstrate the business potential of Lapland in a targeted manner towards potential Chinese partners.”
House of Lapland is also collaborating with China’s largest mobile payment platform, Alipay, to promote travel from China to Lapland, especially in the summertime.
Lapland has experienced a surge in tourism in recent years, especially from China, Asia and the UK.
