Hellon continues gold streak in Dublin
Finnish service design company Hellon has been awarded gold for its project with Irish retail company Musgrave.
The award was presented at the Service Design Global Conference in Dublin, where Hellon won gold for the third time. The awarded project was done for the Irish grocery retail and wholesale company Musgrave with the aim of growing the families and parents segment by improving customer experience.
Hellon’s solution included the Parent VIP Hour, parking solutions tailored for parents, free fruit for children and an updated checkout procedure. According to the company, the service design project increased Musgrave’s annual revenue by almost five million euros.
“As designers, we need to understand what creates the best possible customer experience, and what the expectations and needs of different target groups are,” says Lotta Julkunen, lead service designer at Hellon. “Transforming the shopping experience at Musgrave is a concrete example of how the successful everyday shopping experience can be improved significantly by utilising service design,” Julkunen continues.
The company was founded in 2009 and set up shop in London in 2015. Claiming gold for the third time makes the company the most lauded in the awards’ history. Hellon’s customer references include Vodafone, Volkswagen and Tesco.
“Since the 1930s, Finland has been internationally recognised as a country of design. It’s great to see that Finnish service design expertise now continues this legacy. Our design methodology and innovative approach are proven to be the best in the world” says Timo Pätiälä, managing director of Hellon London.
