Registered overnights from the UAE increased by 30 per cent in Finland last year.Visit Finland

Dubai-based carrier flydubai is set to become the first UAE-based airline to operate direct flights to Finland.

The year-round service from Dubai International to Helsinki Airport will commence on 11 October. The carrier will operate the new route with its brand-new Boeing 737 MAX 8, offering flat-bed seats in Business Class and new RECARO seats in Economy Class.

UAE flagship airline Emirates will codeshare on the Helsinki route, with passengers from destinations on Emirates’ extensive network spanning over 80 countries on six continents able to easily connect to Finland with one stop in Dubai.

“We are thrilled for this route opening and looking forward to our cooperation with flydubai,” says Teemu Ahola, account manager for Asia & Middle East at Visit Finland. “Last year registered overnights from [the] UAE increased by 30 per cent in Finland and we are hoping to break the record in 2018.”
