Finnish diabetes health technology lands in India
Finnish startup Quattro Folia has entered the healthcare market in India with its Balansio service for diabetes monitoring and management.
Quattro Folia’s Balansio service will be distributed across India by Mumbai-based Balansio Care, and the first private sector hospitals and clinics have already signed up for the service.
The Balansio service includes a smartphone application that automatically receives data from the most common blood glucose meters and activity applications. Other self-care data, such as carbohydrates and insulin, can also be added manually. With the use of artificial intelligence, the service identifies potential problems, while healthcare professionals have access to patient data through the Balansio Pro software.
“Balansio as a software-as-a-service is well suited to Indian markets as it is cost-efficient and can easily scale to the needs of India’s large and growing population with diabetes,” says Harri Okkonen, CEO of Quattro Folia. “We are delighted with the opportunity to enable better care for diabetics in India. India is a very important first step in our strategy to make Balansio available for diabetics worldwide.”
Following the distribution agreement in India, the presence of the Balansio service will also be extended in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Pakistan and Sri Lanka, by Quattro Folia’s representative and management consultant, UAE-based Vendor Junction.
