The Finnish airline has extended its ongoing collaboration with Alaska Airlines to include a codeshare partnership that will further Finnair’s reach on the West Coast of the US.

Starting on 20 May, Finnair’s code will be added to Alaska Airlines flights operated between San Francisco and the US cities of Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County and Palm Springs.

This will offer Finnair customers smooth connections from San Francisco, where the Finnish airline will operate up to three weekly flights from 3 May to 5 December 2018. In return, Alaska Airlines customers will be able to fly with Finnair to more than 60 European destination from San Francisco, Chicago, New York and Miami.

“We are very happy to collaborate once again with Alaska Airlines on this new codeshare agreement,” says Philip Lewin, head of partnerships and alliances at Finnair. “The new codeshares will help us widen our network on the West Coast and offer more options for our customers.”

The two airlines have been engaged in a frequent flyer partnership since May 2017, which allows members of Finnair and Alaska Airlines loyalty programmes to earn and redeem miles or points on flights operated by both airlines.
