Caverion involved in Copenhagen hotel project
Finnish company Caverion has signed an agreement with HENT Danmark on the delivery of building systems for a new hotel to be opened in the old Central Post Office in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Caverion will be responsible for heating and sanitation, as well as sprinkler systems, in the hotel located in the historic building from 1912, which was designed by architect Heinrich Wenck.
The upscale hotel is scheduled to open its doors in early 2020 and is operated by Nordic Hotels & Resorts. It will contain 390 rooms, a large event hall, and several restaurants and bars.
“We are excited to participate in the rebuild of an iconic building into a concept hotel,” says Michael Højgaard, the CEO of Caverion Denmark. “From the outside one cannot see it is a hotel as this is a protected building with an unaltered façade. But on the inside we will help to install the 390 unique rooms with the latest building technologies through our technical expertise.”
Caverion’s work on the hotel is set to be completed in November 2019. The value of the agreement has not been disclosed.
