Brella awarded in London

“We’re thrilled that more and more event organisers are realising the power of facilitated networking, for both their event and their attendees,” says Jyrki Paananen (far right).Twitter/Brella

Finnish event networking software company Brella has won two awards at the Event Tech Awards in London.

Held for the sixth time, the awards recognise the achievements of companies delivering digital and technological solutions to the events industry.

Brella received the awards for Best Event Networking Technology and Best Conference Technology.

The company helps facilitate networking by enabling event participants to connect with relevant people during the event. Using Brella’s software, the participants can add their personal profiles, telling others what they have to offer and what they are looking for.

Helping professionals connect at events has been our goal since day one, and this is only the beginning for us,” stated COO Jyrki Paananen. “Networking at events isn’t just about meeting people, it’s about meeting the right people, as the right contact can change everything in business life.”

“This is the start of something huge and we can’t wait to see where it takes us,” he continues.

In August, Brella raised 1.2 million euros in private equity and established a subsidiary in the US. The company has also set itself the lofty goal of becoming a global networking standard.

“By 2020, Brella will have been used at 10 000 events and enabled 100 000 000 business contacts,” CEOMarkus Kauppinen stated in our feature article earlier this year.
