Nordic Premium Beverages’ Arctic Blue Gin has won Double Gold and was also chosen as the Spirit of The Year 2018 at the World Spirits Awards.

The World Spirits Award is considered to be the highest award on offer by industry insiders and is regarded as the World Championships of international awards. A jury composed of extensively trained and experienced tasters from the spirits trade, as well as distillers, judged the offering.

Double Gold is only given to products with 95.3 or more of the possible 100 points.

“Right from the very start, our goal was to create the best gin in the world.” states Nordic Premium Beverages’ brand manager Mikko Spoof.

The artisan gin takes inspiration from the Arctic nature and is produced by a team of culinary experts.

“We managed to capture the essence of unique Finnish nature in a never-before-seen way in the Arctic Blue Gin. You can really experience the moment of a morning dew in a wild bilberry forest in our gin,” Spoof adds.

The Arctic bilberries used in the gin grow wild in a forest near Koli National Park and areas close-by in the Karelia region of Eastern Finland.

The bilberries are combined with other Arctic botanicals and fresh spring water to create the taste of the gin. Arctic Blue is distilled without chill-filtering to preserve the sensitive natural aromas and qualities of the precious ingredient. This leaves the natural pectin of the bilberries, transforming the gin from clear liquid to a unique misty colour.

Established in 1989, Nordic Premium Beverages is the oldest winery and producer of sparkling wine in Finland.
