Finnair boosts schedule for coming seasons
Finnair has announced new flights to top European destinations and Lapland as well as a co-operation with Deutsche Bahn.
Growing traffic and adding frequencies is in line with Finnair’s growth strategy. The additions are partially due to the increasing number of Asian travellers heading to Finnair’s European destinations.
Starting in June, Finnair will add summer time flights to its new year-round destination Lisbon as well as Barcelona. Budapest is set to get a third daily flight for the summer season, with improved connections to the airline’s network in the US.
Other cities that will see an increasing number of Finnair’s flights next summer are Krakow, Geneva and Astana.
Come winter 2018, Finnair will add frequencies to Madrid and Reykjavik, driven by increasing demand from Asia. Asian growth is also encouraging Finnair to boost traffic to Finnish Lapland. In total, Finnair is adding over 230 flights to Lapland for the winter season 2018/2019.
Finnair is also launching a new Rail & Fly co-operation with German Deutsche Bahn, combining air and rail travel. Customers buying a Finnair ticket to or from Germany can also include a rail trip to their booking.
“We are happy to continue to offer improved connections for our customers,” saysJuha Järvinen, Finnair’s chief commercial officer. “Finnair is undergoing the fastest growth period of its history, offering more choice and more possibilities for Europe-Asia travel than ever before.”
