Vafo Group invests in Finnish pet food industry

Czech pet food producer Vafo Group is acquiring its Finnish counterpart Prima Pet Premium and investing around 7–8 million euros in a new pet food plant in Ikaalinen, Finland. The acquisition was the natural next step in the over 15-year-long collaboration between Prima Pet and Vafo Group, according to Vafo’s owner, Pavel Bouškan. The Czech family business is one of the pet food market leaders in Europe, and the factory in Ikaalinen will be the largest in Finland once it becomes operational in 2022. Image: Prima Pet Premium

Fort Deli joins food conglomerate Orkla

Norwegian food conglomerate Orkla has acquired 80 per cent of Finnish food-service company Seagood Fort Deli. Orkla wants to combine its product portfolio with Fort Deli’s strong customer network, especially in the Finnish hotel and catering market. Nanoksi’s sprayable virus killer wins trial with Emirates

Nanoksi has won the Aviation X Lab Accelerate Traveler Wellbeing Challenge in Dubai, having been selected from 107 submissions from 30 countries. The Emirates airline’s trial of the Nanoksi solution will take place in its lounges at Dubai International Airport. It will then be introduced aboard its aircraft. Nanoksi Finland’s sprayable disinfectant claimed to keep surfaces coronavirus-free for up to a year.

Helsinki Airport wins recognition after tough year for travel

Helsinki Airport was rated as one of the best in Europe in its size (15–25 million passengers) in 2020 by Airports Council International. The Finnish airport also received recognition for its hygiene measures during the coronavirus pandemic from the non-profit organisation, which recognises and rewards the best airports annually according to passenger surveys.
