Neuro Event Labs granted EUR 1.9 million in EU funding

Finnish company Neuro Event Labs (NEL) has received a 1.9 million-euro EU Horizon 2020 grant to make its remote diagnostics aid, Nelli, widely available for epilepsy patients. Epilepsy is one of the world’s most common neurological disorders and, in order to provide optimal treatment, it’s crucial to define the type and frequency of seizures. A third of diagnosed epilepsy patients suffer from uncontrolled seizures that could be managed if the diagnosis was made with more reliable methods. NEL’s clinically tested and AI-powered technology aims to change that. It is used in the patient’s home and interprets their behaviour, movements and sounds to provide more accurate information to doctors. Image: Neuro Event Labs

Nokia completes first C-band network trial in US

Finnish telecom equipment supplier Nokia has completed the first successful US-based trial in the C-band spectrum, achieving stable peak throughput speeds of over 1 Gbps. C-band will be a prime spectrum for providing 5G services in the country, with Nokia’s C-band solutions ready to deploy before the expected US spectrum auction in December 2020. Nokia carried out the tests in the Cypress Waters neighbourhood of Dallas, Texas, by leveraging its commercial 5G AirScale portfolio. Image: Nokia

Kalmar keeps busy worldwide

It will also supply DR Depots in the Netherlands with nine empty container handlers and one reachstacker under a contract secured through its local dealer, Feyter Forklift Services. Finally, Kalmar has signed a letter of intent with ARX Mining and Construction Equipment, according to which ARX is to become its contract manufacturer for Indital branded products in India. As a consequence, Kalmar will close its multi-assembly unit in Bangalore, India. Image: Kalmar
