Brummies land directly in Lapland

UK airline Monarch will add Lapland holidays direct from Birmingham to its winter programme from 1 December.

Monarch flights will take off from Birmingham twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. The company also offers a range of accommodation across Lapland, so agents can offer customers a choice of three- or four-night packages.

Monarch’s Lapland programme flies to Finland from London Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham.

“We are really pleased to be extending our Lapland programme to Birmingham for this coming December,” says Gary Anslow, sales director at Monarch. “Our trade sales team will be out and about in the next few weeks visiting our agent partners to make sure they have everything they need to make the most of these new departures. Our Lapland holidays from Gatwick and Manchester are always sold out, so extending to Birmingham departures is great news for those wanting to fly from the Midlands.”

Monarch will also be offering an expanded holiday programme from Manchester this winter.

Lapland’s popularity as a tourist destination is rapidly growing: very recently, Swiss travel company Hotelplan announced it will begin charter flights to Kuusamo next year, and Finnair said it will add almost 60 000 seats to its winter capacity in Lapland.
