Wärtsilä delivers industrial power plant to Kazakhstan

Wärtsilä, the Finnish supplier of power solutions for the marine and energy markets, will deliver a 40 MW industrial power plant to LLP Kazazot in Kazakhstan.

The Smart Power Generation power plant that will provide electricity and steam for the industry near Aktau, Western Kazakhstan’s second largest city located at the Caspian Sea. The extended equipment includes, among other things, four of Wärtsilä’s 34SG engines using natural gas, cogeneration units for steam generation and civil materials.

“We have experienced rapid growth in our sales to the countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) over the past decade, especially in the industrial sector. –,” says Alf Doktar, regional director at Wärtsilä Energy Solutions.

The plant is slated for completion in late 2016.

Wärtsilä is headquartered in Helsinki and employs around 18 000 people. As of today, the company has installed approximately 58 GW of power generation capacity in 175 countries.
