Arguably the world’s oldest still functional ski wax producer, Finnish Vauhti Speed, has signed an agreement with the world’s oldest ski manufacturer Fischer Sports.

The company describes the agreement, which includes product development and subcontracting, as “extensive and lengthy”.

The collaboration means Vauhti will manufacture the new Fischer ski wax and care product collection. On top of that, the two companies will co-operate in research and development.

According to Vauhti, Fischer is the first ski brand in the world that will also include ski waxes and other care products in its offering.

“We’re very thrilled and flattered that as a North Karelian company we’ve managed to convince Fischer with the quality of our products and our expertise in product development, first and foremost in liquid waxes and conditioners,” says the chairman of the board Martti Uusitalo.

Uusitalo notes that the co-operation is significant not only in monetary terms, but also due to how it gives Vauhti access to all ski market areas and ensures its products are globally distributed.

Vauhti’s strategic goal is to be the leading actor in ski wax technology. In addition to product development, Vauhti has invested heavily in production technology and facilities.
