Finnish Valtra’s T254 Versu tractor featuring a SmartTouch armrest has won the ‘Tractor of the Year 2018’ and the ‘Best Design 2018’ awards at the Agritechnica trade fair in Hannover.

Tractor of the Year is one of the industry’s most prestigious awards and Valtra was selected as the award recipient by 23 independent journalists representing 24 European agricultural magazines.

According to the jury, “Valtra sets a new standard in intuitive operation; the tractor in general offers high level of comfort, performance, efficiency and versatility.”

The Valtra T254 Versu tractor features a SmartTouch armrest with a nine-inch screen that hands the driver control of the latest precision farming tools in the same user interface as the tractor controls.

Another standout element of the Valtra T254 Versu is the tractor’s intelligent drive lever that enables full operation using only the drive lever – making it possible to drive the powershift tractor as a CVT tractor.

Valtra was also a nominee for another award, with the Valtra A114 model of the new A Series also a finalist in the Best Utility category at the trade fare.

“Receiving these important awards and finalist recognition is amazing and a great continuation to the numerous acknowledgements and awards that our fourth generation models have received since they were first launched in 2014,” comments Mikko Lehikoinen, marketing director at Valtra.
