Traplight captures new millions
The game studio behind Big Bang Racing has completed a funding round of 2.5 million euros, which now takes the total of its investments up to 4.6 million euros.
The round was led by Korea Investment Partners, followed by Sunstone Capital, Finnvera and angel investor Shukri Shammas. The latter three have previous invested in the company.
Traplight plans to use the money to grow its team and develop new, groundbreaking games. Its first game with user-generated content, Big Bang Racing, was launched in 2016, and it now has over seven million levels created by players themselves.
“With Big Bang Racing we learned how to combine a mobile game with content generated by users, and we’ll take advantages of these lessons in our upcoming games, too,” Traplight CEO Riku Rakkola explains. “Wer’re constantly looking for ways to utilise the players’ creativity in developing engrossing and refined gaming experiences.”
