Trainesense has developed technology for swimming performance analysis that helps make the most out of every stroke a swimmer takes.

The patented technology measures the magnitude, direction and timing of the force during the strokes.

The method offers an easy-to-use toolbox for analysing the efficiency of the stroke. With the toolbox, experts can reach a new level of understanding swimming dynamics, and amateur swimmers can get the essentials right for improving their swimming skills.

The data collected by SmartPaddle is stored in Trainesense Analysis Center.

In developing the technology for SmartPaddle, the company worked in co-operation with VTT Technical Research Center of Finland, Vincit and Trelab.

SmartPaddle has been used in over 600 individual recordings with over 130 swimmers, including newcomer triathletes and Olympic swimmers. Soon Trainesense will be piloting the product with selected partners.

“We are currently offering the opportunity for one or two additional piloting partners to join the ongoing piloting program,” says Riku Rimpelä, CEO of Trainesense, in the press release.

The product will be commercially available in the first quarter of 2017.

Trainesense was established in January 2016.
